What Is The $15,000 Grant For?

The grant is for hiring a Digital Advisor to develop a Digital Adoption Plan and not for the implementation of technology solutions, that’s where the 0% interest loan comes in. Our team of CDAP-approved experts is here to guide you through the process of accessing the Boost Your Business Technology grant, offering up to $15,000, as well as subsequent interest-free loans of up to $100,000 from the Business Development Canada (BDC) for implementing your digital adoption plan.

What is the Boost Your Business Technology Grant?

The Boost Your Business Technology grant is focused on providing support to Canadian-owned SMEs aiming to adopt new digital technologies. If your company is eligible for this grant, you’ll gain access to a marketplace of digital adoption experts who can assist you in developing a customized digital adoption plan to suit your specific needs. You can utilize the grant to cover our services as your digital advisor. We work closely with businesses, recommending digital pathways and strategies to help achieve your business goals and stay ahead in the digital economy.

Why a grant for just a plan?

Implementing technology solutions without a plan in place happens all too often and unfortunately businesses that do so rarely see the ROI they were expecting. The role of your digital advisor is to understand all of your business needs then develop a plan that identifies the right technologies to solve your problems. You have a business plan, now it’s time to incorporate technology into that plan.

Boost Your Business

The Boost Your Business Technology grant covers up to 90% of the eligible cost of retaining the services of a digital advisor, with a maximum grant value of $15,000 per SME, to develop a digital adoption plan. Additionally, your business may have the opportunity to secure a 0% interest loan from the BDC, facilitating the acquisition of new technology. You can also leverage the assistance of talented post-secondary students and recent graduates through subsidized work placements.

Application Process

Once ISED has confirmed your eligibility under the program and provided you with a unique link, you will be directed to complete an online form on bdc.ca to make your loan request. Your business must also meet BDC creditworthiness requirements to obtain financing. Certain conditions apply. Upon completing the BDC application form, you will receive a notification from BDC regarding the status of your loan request.

Main Reasons Business Owners Do Not Get Great Value Out Of Digital Solutions

Lack of Direction

There are many books, courses and other forms of education available about Digital Transformation for enterprise organizations and government. However, there is literally nothing practical available for business owners.

Lack of Resources

Internal IT or the Managed Service Providers are focusing only on the technology part of the digital transformation projects. The organizations are left on their own to figure out how to use those systems with daily frustration.

Lack of Expertise

Most consultants that can create a digital transformation plan are very expensive and have mostly enterprise experience that won’t scale down to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
